Talking about similar sounding words (toast and coast), I am looking forward to make a toast (in Gothenburg, on the west coast of Sweden) to the Sons and Daughters of Liberty on December 16. For your information, I had to pay SEK 305 in customs duty for importing TeaParty.nu gear (including the tile coaster). Is it time to protest against different regulations, like the Tea Act?

I want to remind you of TeaParty.nu’s first Blog Carnival on December 17. Please go to our page on BlogCarnival.com and submit your entry.

Preparing for the Boston Tea Party

We are preparing for the Boston TeaParty.nu on December 16 in Gothenburg city. Please stay tuned for an invitation via email, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc.

The tea party will start at 6 PM CET with a welcome drink (“sparkling tea”) and time for social intercourse (mingle). Around 6:30 PM, we will make a toast to the Sons and Daughters of Liberty.

Since women often purchased consumer goods for the home, the Daughters of Liberty became instrumental in upholding the boycott, particularly where tea was concerned.

After the toast we will talk about the historical event in Boston and then we will have our own version of “afternoon” (high) tea with a mix of scones, tea sandwiches and Xmas treats, e.g., ginger biscuits. During eating and talking, you will have the opportunity to participate in a fun quiz about Boston and tea. The winners will win tea related prizes.

At 7:30 PM we will announce the winners of the quiz and tell you about our plans for future events. We will then end the tea party and continue the partying at some other place, e.g. a beer cellar, drinking (Samuel Adams) beer…

Tea Party Dot Com Domain

Do you think that the Canadian rock band, Tea Party, will “sell out” and dump the domain name www.TeaParty.com at a web auction?

TeaParty.com

TeaParty.com

From Schuyler Velasco’s article, Qwikster, Teaparty.com are hot properties online. How much would they sell for?:

The political tea party already owns teaparty.net, teaparty.org, and teapartypatriots.org, among others. But according to Mr. Shamos, teaparty.com is far more essential.

“It has extraordinary value, in terms of e-commerce,” he says. “People want to put dotcom after everything, because it’s the most commonly known. If I tell you about the Tea Party, you’re going to look up teaparty.com first.”

(http://www.csmonitor.com/, September 21, 2011)

TeaParty.nu is worth $449 at the moment, according to CubeStat. TeaParty.com has an Alexa traffic rank of 383,732 and “reputation” of 126 (sites linking in).

Here is an excerpt from Joshua Green’s article, Teaparty.com Could Make a Rock Band Rich:

Teaparty.com is probably approaching its maximum value. The good news for the band is that there is no shortage of potential suitors: the Republican Presidential candidates; conservative political action committees; a wealthy Tea Party backer (the Koch brothers, perhaps?); a mischievous Democratic group. “The timing of this sale couldn’t be more brilliant,” says Stephen K. Bannon, the former Goldman Sachs (GS) investment banker who directed a trilogy of films about the Tea Party (including this summer’s Sarah Palin biopic) and is considering acquiring teaparty.com. “It could cause a lot of trouble if it fell into the wrong hands.” And that’s just in the world of politics. “If you had guts and worked in the marketing department at Lipton Tea (UN),” Adelman suggests, “you could take advantage of the interest to drive a huge marketing campaign.”

Tea Party in the Nude

Is it time to point out that the Emperor is nude, ”undress” the leaders of the Tea Party movement and call the poker “bluff” at the casino? Personally, I don’t think that the journalists of the mainstream media have figured out how to use social media in a proper way and they are clueless regarding fundamental ideas. Here is an opinionated excerpt from the article, GOP leaders must free themselves from the Tea Party’s grip, by opinion writer Eugene Joseph Dionne Junior:

The Tea Party lives in an intellectual bubble where the answers to every problem lie in books by F.A. Hayek, Glenn Beck or Ayn Rand. Rand’s anti-government writings, regarded by her followers as modern-day scripture — Rand, an atheist, would have bridled at that comparison — are particularly instructive. (The Washington Post, July 21, 2011.)

I am having a hard time to “read” the tea leaves and have a qualified guess if “Tea Partyers is planning to hold their ground” against the spending spree “or force others to spend,” and if that will “lead to a split of the Republican Party,” a.k.a the Grand Old Party. I must admit that I am not sure about the outcome at the moment, but I am pretty sure that the so-called “American Dream Movement” will not become “bigger than the Tea Party“…

I have to say that I am glad to see that today’s home towner of Boston (Tea Party) are pretty honest about paying for Honest Tea!

Video streaming by Ustream

Could you guess how honest they are inside the Beltway, Washington D.C.? Would you have guessed that Chicago was named the most honest city in America?

As an endnote, did you know that the word “nu” is “nude” in French? In Swedish “nu” is “now”. Tea Party Nude / Now = TeaParty.nu! ;)
