Wake Up and Smell the Tea

This post is a combination of the Tuesday Tech category and the Thor’s Storm in the Teacup category! I think it is time to “wake up and smell the tea (coffee)”… How about starting the day with a fresh teapot ready at the same time as your alarm clock is ringing? Have you seen a Teasmade product in action?

Maybe you could find Rick Perry and Rick Santorum at the The Sparta Teapot Museum, looking for The Truth-O-Meter?

Tea Party Hobbits

I like J.R.R. Tolkien’s book, The Hobbit, so I got a bit concerned when John McCain talked about the Hobbits in a negative way. Here is an excerpt from the article, The GOP’s Reality Test:

The Republican House that failed to raise the debt ceiling would somehow escape all blame. Then Democrats would have no choice but to pass a balanced-budget amendment and reform entitlements, and the tea-party Hobbits could return to Middle Earth having defeated Mordor. (The Wall Street Journal, July 27, 2011.)

Personally, I think that John McCain should be a cool character like Sam the Hobbit and chill out with a cup of Hobbit tea by Mint Brook Meadow Teas, e.g., Bilbo Baggins Breakfast Blend.

Tea Party in the Nude

Is it time to point out that the Emperor is nude, ”undress” the leaders of the Tea Party movement and call the poker “bluff” at the casino? Personally, I don’t think that the journalists of the mainstream media have figured out how to use social media in a proper way and they are clueless regarding fundamental ideas. Here is an opinionated excerpt from the article, GOP leaders must free themselves from the Tea Party’s grip, by opinion writer Eugene Joseph Dionne Junior:

The Tea Party lives in an intellectual bubble where the answers to every problem lie in books by F.A. Hayek, Glenn Beck or Ayn Rand. Rand’s anti-government writings, regarded by her followers as modern-day scripture — Rand, an atheist, would have bridled at that comparison — are particularly instructive. (The Washington Post, July 21, 2011.)

I am having a hard time to “read” the tea leaves and have a qualified guess if “Tea Partyers is planning to hold their ground” against the spending spree “or force others to spend,” and if that will “lead to a split of the Republican Party,” a.k.a the Grand Old Party. I must admit that I am not sure about the outcome at the moment, but I am pretty sure that the so-called “American Dream Movement” will not become “bigger than the Tea Party“…

I have to say that I am glad to see that today’s home towner of Boston (Tea Party) are pretty honest about paying for Honest Tea!

Could you guess how honest they are inside the Beltway, Washington D.C.? Would you have guessed that Chicago was named the most honest city in America?

As an endnote, did you know that the word “nu” is “nude” in French? In Swedish “nu” is “now”. Tea Party Nude / Now = TeaParty.nu! ;)
